weekend of rain.

We had a quiet weekend.. partly because it was raining...rain you say? in Karratha? yes! and it was lovely. I was able to dust off the gumboots that have been in storage since we moved here and was able to splash in a few puddles. Loved it!

You don't realise how much you miss the rain until you haven't seen it in so long.We stood out in the rain for a good 30 minutes, would have been longer but we had a dinner date with some of our friends in Dampier...We saw Seth and his Mummy and Daddy which is always awesome. 

We started a new project on friday night.. a pallet bed head. I'm so in love with up-cycling pallets. Im pretty sure its an addiction, and mick just goes along with it haha.. he is so good to me. We went searching for a worthy pallet in a suburb of karratha that has a lot of houses being built and is a place we normally go if we are looking for left over wood and building supplies.. its seriously awesome, like a budget bunnings.. we found one. went back at 11pm to get it just incase, actually I'm not sure why we waited until later. It really wasn't a pallet that anyone would have missed. but this is it....

The picture doesn't really give it justice. its huge. very unloved. when we were loading it onto the back of the ute i touched it for 2 seconds and managed to get 3 splinters in 1 finger (later surgically removed by mick). it was in dire need of some TLC. it took a good afternoon to get it scrubbed up and splinter free.. we moved it into the bedroom and I'm in LOVE! there is a few things i still want to do to it but its a lovely addition.

All in all it was a perfect weekend. Mick and Erana xxx
