We were lucky enough to have Micks brother-in-law Daniel stay with us for the long Easter weekend. It's the first family Mick has seen in a year so it would be an understatement to say he was excited. We made the hour long journey down to the camp he is staying at on saturday night. We were able to catch up on the drive back to Karratha. Took him on a mini tour around the town (which is bigger then he expected) also to the Gas Plant, had an encounter with a kangaroo and had dinner with Dad and Ethan. Hopefully he likes it so much he will bring the whole family over.. it's a long shot but i have my fingers and toes crossed.

fresh start.
Mick got his new uniform for his new position at Rio Tinto. it's pretty bias but i think he looks awesome.
must dash.
Im bit of a sucker for moustaches, Mick too..considering his upper lip is never clean shaven. I've wanted to get these mugs i saw on online for a while but couldn't be bothered waiting.. so i made them instead.. they are super easy. All you need is a mug, a ceramic marker and if you don't trust your free hand drawing you'll need a stencil of your moustache of choice. You may need to bake it in the oven afterwards but just check the instructions on the marker you use. They are so cool to make I'm planing on making a set with different colours and styles. sick. We were able to give them a whirl on the weekend.. catching up on 30 rock and sipping chai. booyah.

flat tyres and young love.
It was Mick's first day on the job today as a Train Examiner ( how fancy does that sound) . He isn't working on trains just yet, he is in training for a couple of weeks and if its anything like today it may possibly feel like the longest 2 weeks of his life. Last week mick picked up a nasty cold, not entirely sure how in this heat but it got progressively worse over the weekend so he wasn't off to a good start to begin with when just his luck.. this morning one of the tyres decided it didn't want to live anymore leaving him just 3 tyres and 1 rim to alter his route and detour to my parents house. With my parents out of town he was able to use their car instead of changing his tyre over at such an ungodly hour. disaster averted.
As for myself i was at home the majority of the day. I had an unexpected slumber party with my brothers.. they came over for dinner and never left, not that I'm complaining i enjoy their company. They left early and I was in the spare room, organising things when i came across my old phone. It was pretty hip in its hey day, the sexy motorola razr V3 in black.. that was until i jumped on the band wagon and got an amazing iPhone. It served me well, a good 4 years, back before instagram was ever invented or before you could pin straight to your pinterest from any room in the house (toilet included) and back when the coolest thing my phone allowed me to do was take a picture on the tiny screen at the front of the phone in all its 2 megapixel greatness. sick. I plugged it in to see if it worked and to my delight..IT DOES! The best thing is, it has all of my old photos, old videos and to mick's embarrassment messages i.e messages i received from him before we were married, when we were dating. It was lovely scrolling through, text after text.. the memories started flooding in. As i read it was like falling in love all over again. I hit the nostalgic mother load today. AWESOME.

The Halls + 1
Our friends Teash and Brian have gone to Perth for the Soundwave Festival and have trustingly left us with their baby Ace for 5 days. we love having him, not only is he company for honey (our dog) but they have trained him well.. he can do all the things my dogs growing up couldn't i.e.. play fetch. Any dog that i have ever owned either has absolutely no interest what-so-ever or went for the ball and then ran in the opposite direction. Since he is still young he has copious amounts of energy, to much energy for honey.. having him around you can really see that honey is getting older which is a little sad. Mick and I took them down to Back Beach so they were able to frolic around in the water, catching rocks and playing amongst the mangroves.
